Into a Child's Mind

Anyone who knows anything about Kayden knows that he is always studying and learning new things. Lately, he has been really interested in learning all the about all the periodic elements and the scientific names of things. He has starting reading the list of ingredients on labels and checking out books from the library about all this. So with that going on his mind, here are some recent conversations we've had...

...riding in the van the other day...

Kayden: "Mom what are the ingredients in bananas?"
Me: "I don't know, bananas don't really come with a list of ingredients."

Kayden a little puzzled and I'm sure thinking about how he can find out, then Carter pipes up...

Carter: "Maybe they are made with lemons- they are sweet and yellow."

Okay, not exactly, but maybe we can be the first to cross pollenate the two and create the first Lanana or Blemon, which ever you prefer.

... Another conversation...

Me: "Kayden can you please get me the salt."
Kayden: " You need the Haylite, mom?"
Me: "What, no I just need the salt."
Kayden: " Right, Haylite is the mineral name for it."

Of course, that's exactly what I meant! Geez! Everybody knows that.

Kayden also loves to make up jokes. Here is one of his most recent- feel free to use it at your next get together.

What do trees like to drink at a party? Rootbeer
