Today Corey and I celebrate our 14th anniversary. 14 years have come and gone so fast, it just amazes me. This past weekend, Corey's parents were nice enough to come and stay with our kids so we could spend some time together. We started our time away with a delicious lunch at the Yard House and then Corey was nice and let me go shopping. I hit up some of my favorite stores. Corey really does not like to shop, but is always good to go along with me, so I decided to try and do something he enjoys too. He likes to golf. I don't think I could hack it for a whole entire game, but a putting course is definitely doable. So we headed to Angel Park and putted away. It was a lot of fun, however, I may have ended up in the sand more than a couple of times. I could use some practice. The scenery was nice though. I was upset that Corey convinced me not to take my camera, so everything I took was on his phone. Next time I won't make that mistake.

After our grueling putting competition, we went to check into our hotel. It was so nice. Definitely not somewhere we will be staying with our 5 kids in tow.
J.W. Marriott
When Corey made the reservation, he happened to mention that we were celebrating our anniversary, so shortly after we checked in, there was a knock on our door with a delivery of these strawberries and a bottle of champagne. I didn't want the bottle to just go to waste so I told them that there was no point in leaving it with us, so they returned with some Martinelli's instead. I am sure someone else will enjoy our bottle of champagne and really live it up.
That night we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. I just really love to eat there, but don't get many chances to go. Then Corey put up with some more shopping. We watched a movie and really enjoyed our time together. It's amazing how many places you can go in a day without taking kids along.
It was a really fun and relaxing weekend. I guess we should do it a little more often.
P.S. We had such a good time, but we really wanted to demonstrate the highs and lows of a marriage to each other. You know, just to prove we can make it through the good and bad. Corey got some kind of food poisoning and was under the weather all night. Remember, I mentioned I like to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, well now, Corey not so much for the next little while. I think my chances of eating there more often just got pretty slim. The next morning I woke up not feeling so well and ended up with my first ever migraine and was useless for the rest of the day.
Nothing says I love you more than being sick during your Anniversary celebration. Hopefully in the future we don't repeat that part.
P.S.S. If anyone ever wants to go the Cheesecake Factory just let me know. I may never get there otherwise.
