Fright Night

Pointless attempts to get one of them together- someone was very uncooperative

I am surprised we even had costumes this year. I don't know what happened, but it was hard to pull it all together. I started asking quite awhile ago what everyone wanted to be and throwing ideas out there. Everyone decided. Carter's was really easy, he loves to wear his football jersey so why not just do that? Done. Kayden's choice was easy too, but I couldn't find the costume. I started to get worried. Corey walked into one store across town and found one easily. One more done. Brendan wanted to be a werewolf. I started working on ideas for that. Then he decided he didn't want to be anything at all and wasn't going to dress up. After days of convincing and reminding threatening him that he couldn't get candy without a costume he decided on the skeleton costume we already had. He made it very clear that there he was not going to have any face paint though.  Hailey decided she was going to be a cowgirl then out of nowhere she wanted to be a vampire. I had stuff already, but I wasn't so thrilled with the idea. What 4 year old girl chooses that? We skipped right over all the usual choices, princess anyone? Emery was easy- I was too tired to come up with anything else after all the other costume changes, she used another one we already had too. But let's face it, she can pull hand-me-downs off quite well. In the end, we made it to the Trunk-or-Treat with everyone in some kind of costume. Maybe next year, I will decide on the costumes.

My Favorites on Friday

I love that we actually got everyone to look at the camera in this picture, but my older boys look so old- I don't know what they have against smiling. Too cool, I guess.

(oops- I am totally losing my mind- it's Thursday not Friday, I am just ahead of myself. Oh well.)

It's about time

It's finally been nice weather the last few days. My kids are taking advantage of it. Today I had the back door open enjoying the breeze, but everytime I turned around, Emery had made her way into the backyard. She played out there for and hour and a half, she was in her heaven, a little dirty, but in her heaven.  I just wish it could last, I love this time of year.

Her favorite thing is pushing this old stroller around

( I'm such a sucker for a little diapered bum in leggings)

Oh no!!

For the last couple of days, this is where Emery has been found...
...just sitting in the chair wouldn't be bad, but she is usually standing on it, or using it to climb on top of the table.

Even worse though...

...my kids always learn this handy little trick, pushing the chairs to reach stuff on the counters, but it still drives me crazy. I wonder how long until she learns to climb on the counters?

On a totally unrelated note...

I have tried to get plates for every holiday to put on my plate rack. I hadn't really found any Halloween ones that I liked. So I decided I could probably make my own. I bought plain white plates at the dollar store and some window clings at Michaels. Now, I am thinking I could make them for every other holiday. Oh the possiblities.
