Once in a lifetime...

Happy 100 years to Grandpa Huntsman

This past weekend we went to Utah for this momentous occassion. It's not everyday that you turn 100 years old. I think it is so great the my kids will have met their great grandparents. I never met mine, but my children have met nearly all of theirs. Great Grandpa Huntsman is still in good health and you would never guess him to be his age because he is still going strong.

When we were discussing names for Emery, I didn't even realize it was a family name. When Corey told me it was his great grandpa's name and grandpa Huntsman's middle name, it made that name all the better. I think he was really thrilled about it too. I am so glad we got to celebrate the day with him.

Play it again, Sam

I have always wanted to give my kids a chance to learn to play the piano. It just never worked out in the past, especially since we don't own a piano (usually kind of important for piano lessons ). But about three weeks ago when I found out my friend was going to start giving lessons, I signed them up, piano or not. So we started looking on Craig's list and found a great piano for a great deal . So now we are in full swing playing "Old MacDonald" and other favorites.

Kayden and Carter are both excited to learn and Brendan and Hailey are just as excited to play their own compositions. We just had to make the rule of no piano from 8 pm to 8 am to get a little break, but I'm sure we will hear a lot of it from now on.

We made it!!

Years!!

Corey and I celebrated our 13th anniversary yesterday. Last week he asked me if I wanted to go to lunch and if I could make arrangements for the kids, including the baby. I wondered where we were going because I will usually just bring the baby along. He called me in the morning to see what time he should make the reservation for ( a reservation?!, I was so excited to see where we were going.

He took me the the Top Of The World Lounge. It is at the top of the Stratosphere tower and the restaurant is on a rotating platform. While you are eating you get to see the entire valley. The view is amazing.

It was so much fun. I just was upset that I didn't have my camera, we took pictures with the phone, but they are never as good. After lunch, we went up to the observatory, we also did this on our honeymoon. It was a really great afternoon. That night Corey brought me a container of Ben and Jerry's mint cookie ice cream. So good! He really knows the way to my heart.

Thirteen years has come and gone so quickly. It just amazes me.

While I was looking at them, Carter was also looking over my shoulder and asked if I could print some of them for him to hang on the wall of his room. That is going to be the problem though, deciding which ones to print and put where. Decisions, decisions.
