A big move

Almost 9 years ago we built and moved into our house. So much has changed since then. We moved in when my boys were still little, Brendan wasn't even two. I was pregnant with Hailey. In 9 years a lot has changed. My children have grown. Our family grew. So many memories made.

A year ago, when Corey changed jobs and starting commuting, we considered the possibility that we would eventually move. His commute sucks up a lot of time, time that should be family time. Time that he could be here to help run kids back and forth. Time that could be spent at kids events and activities. Time that could allow us to all be together at the dinner table. Just more time together.

We've made that hard decision to move across town. It has been a hard decision. Not just to leave my house, but all the people we know here. Our ward, Our friends. It's never an easy thing to do.

We started to process to get things ready several months ago, I found a family to rent the house and we started to look for a house for us to rent. To be honest, that's been a little bit of a nightmare. We just never could find anything that we felt good about. Everything we saw was either too much money, had been trashed and was dirty, or simply just too small. We had originally planned on being moved by now, but things were not working out for that. This last weekend we finally found a house that will fit our needs and we are in the process of getting ready to make the move in 2 weeks.

I started to process of sorting and packing several weeks ago, but before I tore everything up I wanted to make sure to take some pictures to remember our time in this house. While it is still our house, it won't be the same as it was. I want my kids to remember this space too and how much we enjoyed our time here.

There will be many advantages to this move too. It's not all sad. Corey's work will be very close. We will be closer to all the kid's schools. Kayden and Carter will be back in the same school this year. Closer to stores, closer to activities. I look forward to maybe getting some of that time spent running back.

Things have just become very real to me. While we've talked about this for months, it still seems to have crept up on me. Going to church, knowing it was that last time with my ward, was hard. Playdates with friends that will be soon be far away has been hard. Packing up seems to stir up emotions, but we know this is what we need to do and look forward to the change that is coming our way. Even if today that seems hard.

A big move, for sure!!! Good luck on this new adventure. You have a beautiful home, but time with family is so important, too. Moving closing to Robert's work was truly the best decision we ever made. I look forward to experiencing it along with you through the blog. Can't wait to see pictures of the new place.

Lot's of good memories in that house but there will be good ones in the new house, too.

It is nice to have the pictures to reminisce and remember good memories of that home. You will be able to have good memories in another home. Family is what makes a home.

Wow! Where are you going? I'm sure the neighborhood would be so different if I were to return. Change is good too though.
