We started our Memorial day weekend with a quick trip to St. George. My parents were visiting my brother and his family, who recently moved to Cedar City. We decided to all meet up with my Grandma, a couple of my aunts and cousin to have dinner together. It was a lot of fun to catch up especially with my brother, his wife and their cute kids, who we hadn't seen in quite awhile. We are pretty excited to have them closer and see them more often.
After dinner we made our way out the the Ivins cemetery to visit the grave of my Grandpa Pete and my cousin Trent.
My brother and his cute little girl. He almost successfully photo-bombed every one of my pictures so he had to be included.
I wanted to get a picture of all of us together, but before I could make it happen, a poor teenager crashed, hard, on his bike right outside the cemetery fence. Poor kid hit his head, had some major road rash, and was totally shaken up. We had to clean him up and stay with him till his parents arrived. Such excitement, but by the time we were back together everyone was hot, tired and ready to go. Photo opp was gone.
On Monday, we decided to take a drive out to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. (Corey's family has a tradition, when they are camping to go on a "nature ride". They drive somewhere they have never been. We couldn't join them camping so, but we decided to honor that tradition.) Since we have actually never been either place in all the years we have lived here and figured it was about time.
Such an amazing place. We were all pretty impressed with it.
Notice Corey holding Emery's arm. This child, I swear, she would have scaled the wall if we didn't hold onto her.
We ended the drive home with 49cent Slurpees.
We then spent the rest of the day swimming, had a barbeque and brought out the fire pit for smores.
