My kids had never been to the beach. They had been so excited for this part of the vacation for weeks. Brendan got some sand toys for his birthday and had been counting down the days.
I wasn't sure how the kids would react, but the boys got right in and loved it. Hailey was not as excited. She was really concerned about all the sand on her and didn't want to leave her beach towel unless I was holding her.
By 3:00, we decided we better pack up. We tried to shower off as best as we could, but I still am finding sand especially in the van. Everybody was completely worn out and Brendan and Hailey were asleep before we even got on the road. And all of us adults began to realize we were sunburned even though we put sunscreen on all day. My kids didn't burn; they just all turned a nice golden brown, it's just not fair. It was a great day and we will have to make beach trips a more regular thing, maybe then Hailey would learn to tolerate the sand.

Looks like you guys had a great vacation! We need to hit the ocean this summer still.
Glad you had such a great time and were able to put it up finally. We missed ya on the 24th.
