Drive to L.A.
We invited Corey's parent along, so they arrived at our house the night before. The game started at 1:30, so we needed to be all packed up and ready to go by 7:30, we were a little late getting out the door, but still made good time. The kids traveled really well ( thank goodness for portable DVD players) and we only had to make one quick pit stop for Carter and Grandpa. We got into L.A. with just enough time to have lunch at In and Out and then we were off to the game.
Brendan was entertained with the binoculars for a good share of the time
Kayden and Grandpa (Kayden was really into keeping stats). He doesn't really care so much about the game itself, but loves to keep score.
When you get to the stadium, you are kind of just pushed along through the parking lot and where we ended up was completely opposite of where our seats were. It was a long walk, most of it uphill, to the other side of the stadium. When we finally go to our seats the game had already started, Carter was a little confused about not hearing the National Anthem, but we didn't miss much. The game was a pretty good game and the weather was really nice, except inside the stadium. It was miserably hot!! The giveaway was Dodger mugs, we just kept filling them with ice and ended up buying frozen lemonade instead of the nachos the kids orginally wanted. Amazingly though, the kids hardly complained and were really good. We made it to the 7th inning before we decided to call it quits. We made the long journey back to the van, hurried to get the air going, and headed to our hotel. Despite the heat, we had a good time. We checked into the hotel, cooled off for awhile, and then went to dinner. ( We ended up at Red Robin- so what if we had cheeseburgers for lunch also, it's vacation and Carter would eat them all day long anyway!)
