Just the ordinary

My sister and her family stayed for the weekend. They were on their way to California and we get to be the pit stop to and from. We don't get to see each other enough and the kids had some great cousin time. They are so excited to see them again this weekend.

The girls kept themselves busy with all sorts of projects and creative play

While the boys played legos and huddled around various electronics

Once the weekend was over, we had to come back to reality on Monday. Carter told me that morning, as he was leaving for school, that he had another project due the next day. Apparently he didn't learn his lesson about procrastination with the last project!

Emery was a lot of help rearranging things for him. She is always helpful that way.

Last week Hailey won an art contest at her school. She came home with an award and art kit. She was so excited. That ribbon has been worn a lot around here.

With the lack of napping that has been going on around here, I have been putting in different movies to see if any of them will capture Emery's attention for any length of time. So far "Lady and the Tramp" keeps her attention the longest, I can get about 30 minutes out of that one. But she asks for "Cars" most often. She only lasts for about 15 minutes, but then she disappears to the toy room, gathers up all the toy cars, and lines them up over and over again. So while she is not watching the movie, she is totally entertained so I can't complain.
I just can't figure out why the treadmill is the place of choice for making those line ups.

She just loves them. They show up everywhere actually. She even convinced my sister to play with her and those beloved cars over the weekend.  I hope she is ready for more of that this weekend.

The treadmill kind of looks like a real road.

Our kids continue to play with those cars daily. It has ended up being a good cheap investment.
